The Bay Filey, Filey

I had a mixed experience at this resort. While the cottage was quite nice and reasonably priced, there were significant issues with cleanliness and service that detracted from our stay. The location was great for exploring the nearby beaches and towns, but the lack of Wi-Fi and poor housekeeping were frustrating.

My stay at The Bay offered a mix of highlights and disappointments. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the beach, and the grounds are well-kept, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the accommodation itself had several maintenance issues that detracted from the experience, such as uncomfortable furniture and cleanliness concerns. While the service from the staff was commendable, there were significant issues that need addressing for the property to meet expectations.

Our stay at The Bay was overall enjoyable, with clean accommodations and a fantastic location just a short walk to the beach. The friendly staff helped us with a last-minute situation, which was greatly appreciated. However, we did notice that some facilities, like the restaurant, had limited operating hours and could be a little pricey. Overall, it offers good family amenities and a nice atmosphere for a holiday.

I had high hopes for our stay, especially given that we’ve enjoyed it in the past, but this time was quite disappointing. While the location is excellent and the patio space offers scenic views, the condition of the room was below standard with cleanliness issues and some poorly functioning amenities. On the plus side, the interaction with the staff was pleasant and accommodating, but overall, I felt like the value for the price we paid didn’t quite match.
