I had a mixed experience at this resort. While the cottage was quite nice and reasonably priced, there were significant issues with cleanliness and service that detracted from our stay. The location was great for exploring the nearby beaches and towns, but the lack of Wi-Fi and poor housekeeping were frustrating.

Rooms

The cottage was nice and spacious but showed signs of wear and tear. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was lacking, with dirty sofas and cobwebs throughout.
Service
5.0
The service was hit or miss; I felt the reception staff could use retraining, especially regarding communication and cleaning issues. I did appreciate that they were quick to fix the leaking shower.

The resort is ideally located between Scarborough and Bridlington, making it easy to explore the beautiful East coast. It's also just a short walk to the beach, which was a major plus.
Dining
7.0
While we didn't experience dining on-site extensively, the pub had a decent atmosphere, and the food looked good. A grocery shop nearby would have been helpful.
Facilities

The facilities, including the pool, were overcrowded during our visit, and the water wasn't heated properly, which was disappointing.

My stay at The Bay offered a mix of highlights and disappointments. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the beach, and the grounds are well-kept, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the accommodation itself had several maintenance issues that detracted from the experience, such as uncomfortable furniture and cleanliness concerns. While the service from the staff was commendable, there were significant issues that need addressing for the property to meet expectations.

The staff showed great kindness in accommodating us when our original booking fell through, but overall responsiveness to issues could improve.

The facilities were overall well-managed, but the accommodation required significant upgrades to meet advertised standards.

Our stay at The Bay was overall enjoyable, with clean accommodations and a fantastic location just a short walk to the beach. The friendly staff helped us with a last-minute situation, which was greatly appreciated. However, we did notice that some facilities, like the restaurant, had limited operating hours and could be a little pricey. Overall, it offers good family amenities and a nice atmosphere for a holiday.

I had high hopes for our stay, especially given that we’ve enjoyed it in the past, but this time was quite disappointing. While the location is excellent and the patio space offers scenic views, the condition of the room was below standard with cleanliness issues and some poorly functioning amenities. On the plus side, the interaction with the staff was pleasant and accommodating, but overall, I felt like the value for the price we paid didn’t quite match.

Rooms
5.0
The room was in poor condition with cleanliness issues and some amenities that didn't work properly, like an incorrectly functioning TV.
Service

The staff was friendly and made efforts to resolve our issues, but they were slow to respond to maintenance needs.

The location is ideal, close to the beach and with a lovely view from the balcony.
Dining

The options at the onsite pub were limited and quite pricey compared to local alternatives.
Facilities

While the facilities include a nice pool, other amenities were not up to par, including a poorly maintained kitchen area.
